How to Update Google Chrome

Updating Google Chrome is usually easy since it often updates automatically in the background. However, you may sometimes need to manually check for updates.     

Why Update?

Security: Updates provide important security fixes to keep you safe from online threats.

New Features: You gain access to the latest features and enhancements.

Performance: Updates can enhance speed and stability.

Instructions:

Step 1: Open Google Chrome

Launch your Chrome browser as you normally do.

Step 2: Open the Chrome Menu

Click the three dots (⋮) in the top-right corner of the Chrome window.

Step 3: Go to Help > About Google Chrome

From the menu, select:
Help → About Google Chrome

Step 4: Chrome Will Start Updating Automatically

A new screen will show up. If an update is available, Chrome will start downloading and installing it automatically.

Step 5: Click Relaunch

After the update is finished, a “Relaunch” button will appear. Click it to restart Chrome with the latest version.

Step 6: Confirm Chrome Is Up to Date

After restarting, go back to the About Google Chrome page to ensure you have the latest version.
