1 Updating Multi-Factor Authentication Settings for Office 365

Summary

This guide provides instructions for updating your Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) settings for your Office 365 account. MFA helps to protect your account by adding an extra layer of security, requiring you to provide a second verification method besides your password when you log in.

VERIFY YOUR USER INFORMATION TO SETUP MULTI FACTOR AUTHENTICATION (MFA) METHODS AND SELF-SERVICE PASSWORD RECOVERY

IMPORTANT: Follow these steps to verify if your cell phone number is correct in the SSO portal.  

Or setup alternate methods for MFA: SMS, Call or Microsoft Authenticator.

For self-service password reset only: You may enter your personal email ID that can help you to recover/reset your password.

  Setup Security Info  

  1. Open a web browser and navigate to https://sso.sjeccd.edu    
  2. Locate the Office 365 icon on the dashboard and click it. 

  1. From the Security info page, you can add, remove, and change any verification method that you would like. You can also specify a different default verification method that you’ll be prompted with. Under Security Info, select the +SIGN-IN METHOD hyperlink.           

   

PHONE METHOD
  1. From the Add a method window, choose Phone and click Add
  1.  Select whether you prefer a text message or a phone call for your verification code and click Next.    
  2. Enter the code you receive and click Next.

    

  1. Review the verification message, and then select Done.
  2. Congratulations! Your phone is now added as a verification method. of the page.
